soon to be looking

I am getting married in november of 2009 and live in the kansas city, mo area. i need to start looking for ceremony(preferably beaches) places that also do reception sites. my fiance and i need to find a place that we can check out in person this year.( weather conditions this time of year, venues, ect.) please respond with ANY advise/ resourses regarding this matter. we want a low budget/very personal wedding. nothing extravagent.
